من می‌توانم با اطمینان بگویم این کتاب یکی از بهترین کتبی است که درباره شخصیت و کار روح‌القدس به هر زبانی به نگارش درآمده است. اهمیت کتاب تام اسمیل تنها به دلیل مباحث بسیار جالب آن درباره روح‌القدس نیست بلکه او ضمن بحث دربارهٔ روح‌القدس بر بسیاری از ابعاد حقیقت تثلیث نیز روشنایی می‌افکند. اسمیل با دقت و ظرافتی کم‌نظیر خصائل ویژه شخصیت و کار روح‌القدس را در تمایزش از پدر و پسر مورد کند و کاو قرار می‌دهد. در عین‌حال، کتاب اسمیل صرفاً یک کتاب الهیاتی نیست، بلکه او در تمام کتاب به مسائل مربوط به زندگی روحانی و رابطهٔ ما با سه شخص تثلیث اقدس نظر دارد به‌طوری که مطالعهٔ کتاب او چه بسا به بروز یک بیداری روحانی در خواننده و تحولی عمیق در تجربهٔ او با روح‌القدس منجر می‌شود. ترجمهٔ بسیار شیوا و روشن کتاب، مطالعهٔ آن را برای خوانندهٔ فارسی‌زبان بسیار آسان و دلپذیر ساخته است. من مطالعهٔ این اثر بسیار نفیس را به همهٔ ایرانیان مسیحی خصوصاًً خادمان و شبانان کلیساهای ایرانی توصیه می‌کنم.  ‏کشیش، دکتر مهرداد فاتحی
