In addition to the wars in Gaul, Book 5 has sections on the customs of the British, and Book 6 has material on the Germans. There are British expeditions in Books 4 and 6 and German expeditions in Books 4 and 6.The book also details Caesar’s major triumph, the defeat of the Gallic army led by the chieftain Vercingetorix, in 52 BC, the alliance with the Belgae, the battle with the Britons under Cassivellaunus, and conflict with the German Suebi tribe.Essential reading for the amateur and professional historian alike, The Gallic Wars has remained a favorite more than 2000 years after it was first published.
