It has been one full year since the events of 'Across the Border'. Somehow, Corey Duncan is trying to carve out some semblance of a normal life. But it's hard. The lure of the street life that he is trying to leave behind is never too far away. And at home, he has to come to terms with the fact that Randy and his mother will eventually marry. Meanwhile, in Endara, an island across the Indian Ocean from Somalia, a civil war between the two main inhabitants of the island has raged for years. And now, there is a weapon that could not only change the course of the war, but also elevate a man to power. General Kumare will stop at nothing to gain control of this weapon and thus the island. However, the brilliant Dr. Amar is one step ahead and sends the weapon and his beautiful assistant away just before Kumare and his forces launch a raid on Dr. Amar's laboratory. Dr. Amar's assistant eventually winds up in America. She is forced into prostitution as a way to make ends meet. At the same time, she always has to stay on alert because she knows that Kumare will stop at nothing to get what she has: the formula to weaponize Rancid. Once Corey, Bill, and the rest of the gang get involved, the quest to protect Tamari and bring down General Kumare will send them around the globe. The second in the series of Corey Duncan adventures is probably his most dangerous yet.

Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
