The Frost King and Saint Nicholas (Part Two of the Five Father Christmases trilogy)The Five Father Christmases trilogy is a Christmas adventure that shows how our Father Christmas / Santa Claus evolved from a mixture of very ancient and relatively modern folklore. Following on from The Oak Elf and The Holly King, Lucy continues her travel through Time on her quest to find the Real Father Christmas, and her mission to save Christmas traditions from disappearing. This time her journey takes her to the Yule celebrations in an Anglo-Saxon village, where she meets the Frost King, the Lord of Midwinter, and to 17th Century Amsterdam, where she will meet not only Saint Nicholas, the original Santa Claus, but also the sinister beast Krampus. On her way she finds two poor Anglo-Saxon kids and a poor Dutch family who she manages to help, and almost by accident, she changes the history of Christmas by doing so. There are more hidden dangers on her journey, including the risk of getting stuck in the wrong century and never returning home.  And although she is unaware of it, Lucy’s little brother Alfie has followed her through the same doors in Time, and is about to get into trouble and dangers of his own.
