The Forward Thinking Pastor

Pastors were never called to merely survive Sunday after Sunday.Yet too many faithful leaders find themselves exhausted, overextended, and quietly wondering how shepherding turned into surviving. The demands never stop. The same few volunteers carry the weight. The congregation receives ministry but rarely steps into it. And slowly, the pastor becomes the ceiling of the church’s future.'The Forward Thinking Pastor' is a timely and practical call to break that cycle.Drawing from more than three decades of ministry experience, Kevin Wells challenges pastors to move beyond maintenance mode and rediscover their biblical calling as equippers of God’s people. This book shows leaders how to build churches that are not dependent on one person’s capacity, but strengthened by disciples, leaders, systems, and structures prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. With biblical insight, real-world ministry wisdom, and practical strategies, Wells helps pastors learn how to read the times without losing the truth, communicate an unchanging Gospel in a changing world, raise leaders who raise leaders, equip the whole church for ministry, navigate resistance, steward technology, and build sustainable rhythms that protect both the mission and the minister. This is not a book about chasing trends or abandoning conviction. It is a roadmap for pastors who refuse to let exhaustion define their calling and refuse to let their churches remain spectators in the work of God.Your church has untapped potential sitting in the pews.Your calling is still clear. And the future of your ministry may depend on one courageous decision: stop carrying the church alone-and start equipping it to move forward.
