A journey is not done until you reach an end. The journey of this book is of my life. I tend to look at things a little different than most. Life is made up of the small things we see every day, and take for granted, and it usually takes some kind of tragedy for most folks to realize this. This book is years of looking at life, love, happiness, and sorrow, and being able to get up the next day and start all over again. Uncle Lum use to say, 'Boy, you’re no different than anyone else in this world. You put your britches on one leg at the time each day, and face what comes at you head on.' Without knowing it, this is basically the way I have lived my life. I always plan ahead, set goals, but hell, take it one day at a time, and face what comes with peace in my heart.

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

In his interpretation of Antigone, Seamus Heaney says, ‘Nobody can be sure they are always right.’ Maureen O’Shaughnessy’s The Truth about A further attends to this idea through various readings of the myth as portrayed by Sophocles, Brecht, Ted Hughes, Anne Carson and, most particularly, Euripides.
