Doc Jack was born in 1863, and he disappeared into the Rocky Mountains of Alberta in 1907. After one year of searching for Doc, the people of the Calgary area presumed that the mountains had taken his soul. For a doctor who was unfamiliar with winter mountain terrain, the risks were high, and the odds of returning slim, but Doc wanted closure on the last of the six men who had murdered his parents back in Peterborough, Ontario. In the winter of 2009-2010, a series of avalanches had taken their toll and buried some local snowmobilers. During the search, all five of the buried men were found alive. But they came across another unidentified body, which was frozen solid. This body was dressed in clothing that would have been worn a century ago. A long caribou coat, which also was lifted from the scene.
