He was raised in the low California desert before moving to Oregon in 1975. David Filer’s chapbooks include Night Verse, The Landscape There, Weather Patterns, and Housekeeping. Besides reading at Wordstock in Portland, he was recorded by the Lewis and Clark College’s Oregon Poetic Voices project. He serves on the board of directors of Mountain Writers Series, founded in 1973 to support creative writing in the Pacfic Northwest.
