The Fathers is a novel written by Henry Fielding that tells the story of two fathers, Squire Western and Mr. Allworthy, and their relationships with their respective daughters, Sophia and Jenny. The novel is set in 18th century England and explores themes such as love, marriage, class, and morality. Squire Western is a wealthy landowner who is determined to marry his daughter Sophia off to a wealthy man of his choosing, while Mr. Allworthy is a kind-hearted man who raises his adopted daughter Jenny as his own. The novel follows the two fathers as they navigate their relationships with their daughters, as well as their own personal struggles and conflicts. Along the way, the novel also features a cast of colorful characters, including Sophia’s love interest Tom Jones, who must overcome obstacles to win her heart. The Fathers is a classic work of English literature and is considered one of Fielding’s most important works.O, I was a witness to what passed; however, now they are gone, I must remind you of your promise, to let me hear that song. I think both the words and air admirable. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Blood in the battle for racial equality is no surprise, but f...

The most astonishing thing is the sureness with which everything is controlled, explained, justified, in the most extravagant buffoonery. The cross-purpose...
