When my son walked away from the Lord, I was devastated. I began praying like I had never prayed before for him. During this time God led me to start writing devotions for a few other people who were in this situation as well. During the second 40-day prayer journey, I was encouraged to publish them. Each devotion is based on the Bible and the Father's heart of love for prodigals. Israel was God's prodigal and many of the devotions are taken from their stories in the Bible. God longed for His people (Israel) to return to Him and follow His ways, but the people wouldn't listen. The devotions show different ways God has of dealing with prodigals. There is also an emphasis on prayer because as believers we know that our prayers are powerful and effective. Lastly, for us who are praying, there is encouragement to not give up, but to trust God with our wayward ones.
