Can a war on drugs really be won by the men and women of law enforcement? Most of the critics say no way, that we are wasting tax payer money. If these same critics were to walk in the shoes of the patrol officers, detectives or the narcotic officers they might just have a change of heart. The Drug Task Force, The Cartel, is a fictional book about real life members of just such a force. This book is the first in a planned three book series of the world in which these men and women work. The characters are real and the situations can be real, but make no mistake about the dangers of this war. Every day is a new battle field and every arrest is a small battle that is won by these brave men and women. This war is 24/7 and these men live in a pretend world with real life and death consequences. The Cartel is a Mexican organization of ruthless men who only care about 2 things, drugs and money. They have made a move into the United States bringing their kind of chaos and lawlessness with them. The Cartel is trying to establish a drug route from Mexico to Chicago and to hell with whoever stands against them. They have their own agenda and they don’t care who gets in their way. The only mistake they made was they underestimated the determination and courage of members of this task force. The only way to stop the Cartel’s lust for money and blood is an eye for an eye attitude and commitment. Can the war on drugs be won; can The Drug Task Force survive and bring an end to the Cartels’ reign of terror?

“Some shows have warnings for strobe lights. Some have them for loud gunshots.  Some for smoke.   MISSISSIPPI GODDAMN, a new play by Jonathan Norton should have one for intensity.   Granted, anyone attending a play about civil rights pioneer Medgar Evers set in 1963 Jackson, Mississippi, should expect some strife. Blood in the battle for racial equality is no surprise, but f...

    Georges Feydeau / Laurence Senelick
“It seems to me that for fertility in droll inventions, the perpetual outpouring of unforeseen misunderstandings, for the inexhaustible gaiety of dialogue, Feydeau’s new play is superior to everything he’s written so far. The most astonishing thing is the sureness with which everything is controlled, explained, justified, in the most extravagant buffoonery. The cross-purpose...

“Plenty of glamorous backstabbing, diva dissing and sexual double-crossing…has every right to claim the name Dynasty for itself.  But the title character in Betty Shamieh’s bouncy, bumpy comic melodrama is the real thing. A queen, I mean, and not just of the self-dramatizing type. Scratch that. She’s more than a queen. She’s a pharaoh, one Hatshepsut, who reigned over Egypt ...
