What if you were given a choice? Would you save a world you have grown to despise, a world that has shown you nothing but cruelty, or would you turn your back on your family, your friends, and your species, to welcome the finality of the end? Uncontrollable urges, violent thoughts, hatred, and rage... these things have consumed Marcus Quincy’s tumultuous past, yet somehow he’s been able to maintain control. Or has he? Strange dreams and nightmares turn to waking dreams and visions of murder where Marcus plays both victim and executioner. The story unveils Marcus’ struggles with his past and his faith, humanity and all its frailties, the possible existence of Heaven and Hell, and above all else, the ripple effect a single choice can have on future events. Now, with the impending celestial alignment, the cycle of death and rebirth nears its end and a choice must be made. Is mankind worth saving, or should Marcus let everything end once and for all? Marcus embarks on a journey throughout the multiple realities of Heaven, Hell, and the known universe in search of the pieces to the Divine Engine, mankind’s only hope of stopping Armageddon. Will Marcus find the faith within himself and all of humanity to gather the knowledge and power to confront pure evil? And can Marcus make the ultimate sacrifice to save the human race?

Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present. Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
