The Disinherited: And The Ensnared is a novel written by Charlotte Campbell Bury and published in 1837. The story revolves around the lives of two cousins, Lady Evelyn and Lady Caroline, who are both disinherited by their uncle and left to fend for themselves. Lady Evelyn, who is beautiful and charming, finds herself ensnared by a wealthy but unscrupulous suitor, Lord Fitz-Maurice. Lady Caroline, on the other hand, is plain and unremarkable, but possesses a strong sense of morality and a desire to do good. She becomes involved in philanthropic work and falls in love with a poor but virtuous man, Mr. Beaumont. As the story unfolds, the two cousins face numerous challenges and obstacles, including betrayal, heartbreak, and financial ruin. Ultimately, they must rely on their own strength and resilience to overcome these difficulties and find happiness and fulfillment in their lives. The Disinherited: And The Ensnared is a compelling tale of love, loss, and redemption, set against the backdrop of Victorian society. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
