Synopsis: The Devil’s Stone is an action/adventure story set in Sierra Leone, West Africa over the Christmas period during the late 1980s. It’s an exciting tale of a priceless red fancy diamond. Everybody wants it and will do whatever it takes to get it. Whoever owns it will be king.Omar Ash Raff is a man of honor. He lives in Sierra Leone, a country rife with diamond smugglers. Omar knows what diamonds can do to a man. He’s chased that dream all his life. He safeguards Okra Hill-the most valuable piece of diamond-rich, real estate the country possesses from being pillaged by rebels, diamond conglomerates and the corrupt government that will sell it to the highest bidder. Okra Hill belongs to the people. Protecting it is insurance that if the people can’t have it, nobody else will.Dawn Peake, a successful Tour Guide, is enroute to the most important meeting of her career in Gambia, West Africa, to establish a tour operation with a prominent hotel chain. Her plane makes a forced landing in Freetown. From the moment the plane lands, Dawn is entangled in the rebel war, and she must trust Omar to help her. She is cautious of a relationship with Omar, but there is a mystical force that binds them together from the start.Omar is swept into a romance with Dawn. But once he sees The Devil’s Stone, he realizes the power he’d have if he owned it: He’d be the wealthiest, most powerful man in the region. He promises to protect Dawn from the dangers of the country. They head to a remote mining town where six-year-old Bingo lives. A homeless orphan, Bingo owns The Devil’s Stone. Left to him by his late mother, the stone is stolen from him first by the Chief of the village of Kono, and then by the rebel leader Cobra. Bingo is devastated and vows to get it back.In a land of voodoo, devils and secret societies, Omar sets out to hunt down the priceless diamond. Together, Dawn, Omar and Bingo must play their part in finding the 'DEVIL’S STONE.' Along the way, they form lasting friendships that changes their lives forever.Autobiography: Marie Reindorp is an English native who traveled the world extensively as a tour guide.
