These poems are glimpses into unrequited love. What is this love? To define love is to constrain an ocean, to fence infinity, or to describe you - simply impossible! Anguish is frequent and bliss rare in my life but many have resulted in poetry. The question is, has been and shall be; where to pilgrim? Perhaps into the lovers’ embrace? Or, to mount Kailas, looking for the invisible, not-to-be-found Shiva? The dead end-up searching for the non-sublime celestial love only to have the finger pointed backwards to who am I? Written in millions of words and billions of prayers, I too have heard these answers. But like high school math, just the end result is not enough. Let me show you my steps inside. ...Sunil Vidyarthi 'I have to say, I am glad this is not written for me, it would make me cry...way to tell the whole truth...'--ScarletO '...and I found myself getting lost between the lines and imagining this little fantasy tale. It seemed to hold many truths within it and I think this is a piece many will enjoy and relate to.' --Euthalia-Wings '... rather gorgeous, strong and well penned; quite flawless. The questions thought out and the answers unknown remain in the air and wrap around the reader softly...'--Manda '...So very final so very open ended so no chance for a communication....' --Knightcall '...Very powerful, very emotional but very eloquent all the same. Great job on this you are truly talented....' --Darkshadow 'Great write.....and here´s wishing you all the best..'--Sidebar

    Jennifer Chrystie
‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

  • One Kiss
    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

  • The Truth about A
    Maureen O'Shaughnessy
In his interpretation of Antigone, Seamus Heaney says, ‘Nobody can be sure they are always right.’ Maureen O’Shaughnessy’s The Truth about A further attends to this idea through various readings of the myth as portrayed by Sophocles, Brecht, Ted Hughes, Anne Carson and, most particularly, Euripides. Set in contemporary Sydney, among a fictional underworld family, The Truth abou...
