The Cry of a Broken Woman chronicles the life journey of a woman named Cindy. At the age of five, her parents separate, beginning a life of hardship for Cindy, especially after her father vanishes. Relentless difficulties with her stepfather as well as difficulties in school continue into her college years while she seeks to earn her nursing degree. After a lifetime of abuse, trauma, and tragedy, Cindy eventually finds love and happiness and surrenders her life to Christ. In doing so, she finds that grace has followed her all throughout her life, even when she had chosen to go her own way either through naiveté or rebellion. Cindy’s story mirrors our own, as all of us are broken in one way or another. The Cry of a Broken Woman is a story of hope and redemption despite our human imperfections and rebellion and real-life struggles and hardships.

Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
