The covenant of Unverdus is at hand. The god of the universe has chosen his tool. Kac will be that tool to blow the Seven Trumpets of the covenant to bring about the fulfillment of the age, the last age of the earth. Kac must take his companions deep into the heart of the forest to speak with the prophet, Cornelius, only to find him having other plans, which may delay the coming darkness, but it will end. He writes letters that tells Kac and his companions of the plan Unverdus has for them. As the times for the Covenant are being unfolded, a civil war breaks out, and another dark servant rises to even greater power than the former.
