The 80s assertion that shoulder prostheses don’t work is no longer valid. Neer’s work on the reproduction of shoulder anatomy by his total prosthesis, and his interest in the cuff muscles and respect for them, have significantly improved the functional and radiological results of these prostheses, especially in their preferred indication of primary omarthrosis.The inverted Grammont total prosthesis is the answer to various shoulder pathologies with rotator cuff failure.
