In India, between 1937 and 1943, Douglas Harding, author of On Having No Head drew cartoons that were published in the principal daily paper in India, The Statesman. We are publishing this collection of Harding’s cartoons partly because we like them. But also because it gives insight into the varied creative life and character of a man who was a skilled artist as well as what he later became — a great writer, philosopher and spiritual teacher.
