The Cartographer and the Firewings

THE CARTOGRAPHER AND THE FIREWINGSSome paths are forgotten. Some are deliberately erased. And some are waiting to be found again. For centuries, the kingdom of Feridor has trusted its maps to define its borders, its roads, and its history. Elara Vancroft, the Royal Mapmaker, has spent eleven years preserving that knowledge-until she discovers an ancient map hidden in the royal archives. The map reveals something the kingdom has forgotten: an ancient migration corridor traveled by the mysterious Firewings every seventy years. But the path no longer exists.Fortresses, bridges, roads, towns, and watchtowers have been built across the dragons’ ancestral route. Now thousands of Firewings are returning, following a path carried in their memory for generations, only to find the world they remember has been transformed. As the dragons gather at Feridor’s southern border, fear spreads among the people. Soldiers prepare for battle. Leaders debate whether the Firewings are a threat. And Elara realizes that what appears to be an invasion may actually be the consequence of a much older mistake. With time running out, Elara must leave the safety of her maps and travel into the very lands she has spent her life charting. Along the way, she uncovers forgotten records, lost knowledge, ancient warden traditions, and evidence that the kingdom’s official history may not tell the whole story.Joined by unexpected allies, Elara faces a difficult question: What happens when the boundaries created by people stand in the way of something far older than any kingdom? As kingdoms, armies, and ancient creatures collide, Elara must find a way to restore a forgotten passage before fear turns into war.The Cartographer and the Firewings is a sweeping fantasy adventure about forgotten histories, ancient migrations, courage, discovery, and the consequences of rewriting the world without understanding what came before.Perfect for readers who enjoy epic fantasy, dragon lore, adventure, hidden histories, political intrigue, slow-burn romance, strong female protagonists, and stories where humans and the natural world must find a way to coexist.
