Everyday,12 year old Jimmy Thunder steps onto a bus and goes searching for his dog Smoocher, along the endless maze of city streets. Throughout this journey, he befriends a variety of passengers who become inspired by his passion and determination to find his beloved friend. Jimmy Thunder escapes the abuse at home and the bullying at school by traveling the winding streets on a city bus. The school officials think he has moved and his mother assumes he's at school. His bus fares are purchased with his lunch money, and each day he sets off in search of his destiny: to find the only living soul who genuinely loves him...his old dog Smoocher. This is a novel of tragedy as well as strength and hope, revealed as Jimmy Thunder meanders through the streets of the city, desperate to find some far-off 'dog farm'. This is a journey that touches the lives of his fellow passengers and reveals that deep within this wounded boy, is a true heroic character.
