Her parents left sudden and it was thought they all had died in some accident. Her friend Mae in the design studio by the river has a deadline and when the necessary artwork is somehow completed with the most mysterious and fascinating details is shocked but amazed to welcome Katherine back. In shocked disbelief Mae takes her in, but Katherine insists on hiding. The strangest large hound dogs roam outside and they belong to the parents of Katherine, Ron and Lily; who come asking if she has been around but Mae tells them sadly no.Katherine remains hidden and says little while Mae works on the project. Over the next day and more her colleagues disappear. With the dogs and parents returning Katherine disappears as bodies are found. The boyfriend of Mae, Jackson keeps her safe and secure in her confusion and fear. Is Katherine a killer? Do her parents know this? Mae meets with Jen and Issy, all three had been close with Katherine before she mysteriously left town three years previously, presumed dead. Initially, they do not believe her until Katherine soon visits them over the next couple of days.Katherine visits Jen but still remains distant and strange. Ron and Lily meet Jen and warn that Katherine is not at all well, unstable and they need to take her back home, where ever that is. Like Mae, Jen denies she has seen Katherine. While she works on her media videos around town, her colleagues encounter the dogs and Katherine. Before the videos are finished, Jen finds them dead and understands her to be something more than they knew before. In a sleepwalking state Katherine brings the bodies to their demise by the stone no matter who they are or how they plead for mercy.The lives and dreams of the friends and colleagues of Katherine are teased and tested, distracted and destroyed. Jackson knows the dogs are around town and soon enough Ron and lily meet him to discuss their intensions on their return. Ron and Lily move in closer with the dogs on the trail but with tricks and distractions, Jen and Issy are taken to a place where they learn about what their friend Katherine really was and where she and her parents came from. Is Katherine more than human? What secrets does the Briggar stone contain?While Jackson has been living a life of respected success in town outside of the stone, Ron and Lily have been desperate to play their old games once more. He gives them days to retrieve Katherine and return her back inside the Briggar Stone but his orders will not be obeyed this time. Katherine is out and comes to understand who she used to be in town. Katherine and the dogs bring death day by day, night by night but once Mae, Jen and Issy come to see the real dangers and truth of their past they let Katherine change them and use them.As Ron and Lily come to know where to find Katherine, she makes a plan with Issy and the friends, but they must agree to give themselves and trust what she tells them.
