Written by Sir Charlie Brown, it is the story of a bragging balloon that lands himself from the shelves of his factory into the hands of a little girl. The yellow balloon is so happy to be free and to be out in the world, he tries making friends with the little girl, trees, fish, sleeping cat, barking dogs and birds. But, every time he speaks to them, he speaks highly of himself and his pride and vanity comes in between.According to him, no one is important and royal than himself. And, a day comes when a pigeon makes him realize his mistake. This book describes how the pride of a bragging balloon went in vain while bragging about himself. Its interesting story with suitable illustrations makes it a Joy to read in young children. It helps us recognize our own spiritual pride. It was pride and arrogance that made him brag about himself; it was humility that made him realise his mistakes. The balloon had learnt a lot from his suffering and instead of ridiculing, he offered to teach himself never to be afraid of making mistakes because out of mistakes comes success.
