I grew up attending church, and my mother gave me a Bible, but I never bothered to read it. It sat untouched on a shelf in my bedroom for years. When I turned 19, I began searching for something greater, though I didn’t realize it at the time. God, unbeknownst to me, was watching over me, and He sent a Gideon who handed me another Bible. While serving in the Navy, I decided that I would read the entire Bible. One night during boot camp, as I sat on my bunk, I discovered a plan of salvation in the back of the Bible. That moment is etched in my memory as if it happened yesterday. As I read through the Bible, I came to understand how deeply God loves me and realized that He had a plan for my life. It was then that I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and committed myself to a lifetime of reading and studying His Word. The Bible has profoundly shaped my life. It has influenced my values and priorities and has transformed the way I think and act. The timeless truths in the Bible have the power to change your life as well. I make it a habit to read the Bible daily, seeking God’s guidance on how its teachings apply to my everyday life. I ask Him to reveal the areas in which I need to grow, the attitudes that need adjusting, and the actions I should take. The Word of God remains relevant today. No matter how many times I read it, God always seems to speak to me through its pages, and I believe He will do the same for you. This booklet is meant to show you how the 66 books of the Bible are interconnected, forming a unified story that centers on Jesus Christ. As you read through this booklet, my hope is that you will gain a new understanding and appreciation for the most important book ever written. I also pray that, like I did as a 19-year-old, you will open your heart to the teachings of Scripture and allow God to lead you to a better life, both now and for eternity.
