The Bible is a collection of ancient writings that form the scriptural heart of the Christian faith. The purpose of The Bible in Rhyming Verse is not to replace any existing translations, nor indeed to provide an authoritative version of The Bible that could be used on its own as a source of scriptural authority. Rather, this book of poems is intended as an accompaniment or introduction to The Bible that, it is hoped, will make especially some of the more obscure or lesser-known sections more accessible to the general reader. Each chapter of the Bible, including Apocryphal books, is translated into around two rhyming verses, creating a series of short poems that combine to form a fresh take on the Biblical narrative. It is hoped that The Bible in Rhyming Verse will be accessible to well-versed theologians and novices alike, and to people of all faiths and none.
