Step into the legendary world of Ancient Greece with this definitive two-volume collection featuring the foundational epics of Western literature. Crafted by the blind poet Homer, these timeless masterpieces capture the ultimate heights of human heroism, tragedy, warfare, and adventure. The Iliad: Set during the final weeks of the ten-year Trojan War, The Iliad plunges into the heart of battle outside the high walls of Troy. Driven by the catastrophic wrath of the Greek champion Achilles, this epic explores glory, honor, mortality, and the devastating cost of war among gods and mortals alike. The Odyssey: Following the fall of Troy, The Odyssey details the ten-year journey of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, as he struggles to return home to his loyal wife Penelope and son Telemachus. Battling mythical beasts, treacherous seas, monstrous Cyclopes, and divine wrath, Odysseus must rely on his cunning and resilience to reclaim his kingdom.
