On 30 Oct 2019 D. Eric Lawrence was sentenced to prison. He was innocent of the charge but ’UK justice system did not seem to matter and the press and media were only interested in peddling a false narrative with zero fact checking. Those that know D. Eric Lawrence, a shy but very hardworking human being, one that is friendly and cares for others around him were shocked. How did this happen, did his ’type of career’ have anything to do with his predicaments? His is a very complicated story on one hand, and a very simple story of race, racism, pride, lies, deceit and power misuse on the other hand. The book/memoirs details some of D. Eric Lawrence working at a small south London social care organisation during the festive season of 2015 through to Spring March 2016 via his personal reflections and via the use of ’work emails and texts’ to illustrate his thoughts and actions as well to as illustrate the key actions of other key senior staff, and especially the key actions of the charity founder/advisor and the Trustee Chair (RIP). After D. Eric Lawrence three months of working with the small social care organisation and literally three months after he left the organisation, an adult service user sadly took her own life. At the coroner’s inquest, some stakeholders partially blamed D. Eric Lawrence for pushing too much ’change’ on the service users and some say that he was too inexperienced for the post although he has worked for hundreds of charities, universities, private bodies, and statutory bodies all over the world. The Assistant Coroner wrongly believed that D. Eric Lawrence was withholding information from him, specifically for a time period in which D. Eric Lawrence did not even know of him and this charade was further supported by the London Metropolitan Police, The Crown Prosecution Service and the Wimbledon Magistrate’s Court. D. Eric Lawrence was never arrested but The Assistant Coroner ’pressed charges’ via the London Metropolitan Police and the Crown Prosecution Service. D. Eric Lawrence was not able to submit any evidence or witnesses nor was he allowed to speak in court...just straight to prison. This book factually details this time period, it presents his email evidence that was regularly ’hidden in plain sight’ from the public by the coroner process in partnership with the criminal justice system and then details D. Eric Lawrence quest to clear his name prior to entering prison and once released from prison two months later. Readers will hopefully be intrigued by D. Eric Lawrence stories, his humour and wisdom and the many examples of his enduring resiliency. This book also explores if there are ’common’ and or ’predictable’ levels of psychological character triggers for those that own their own charities, that own or manage social care organisations and or their senior managers, and or their ’manager wanabees’, and or their teams, that might explain and account for the high levels of dysfunction witnessed throughout these memoirs, especially when people are stressed and wishing to hide the truth from others.
