When dead bodies turn up in unexpected places and the police discover a complex link between them, a decades-old plot by an underground organization comes to light. It had started out as a plan by a benign group of peace protesters, but over the years the group has become a vehicle for organized crime on a national scale. The action of the story spans various locations throughout Britain and involves constant conflicts between the forces of good and evil. Much of the action is above ground, but some of the significant ’battles’ take place in the darkness of the underground.
