Arthur Stanwood Pier (1874-1966) was an American author, educator, and editor. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he received a classical education at home before attending St. Paul’s School, where he graduated in 1891. Pier then attended Harvard University, specializing in English and graduating magna cum laude in 1895.Pier began his career as an assistant editor at The Youth’s Companion, a role that supported his early writing endeavors. He is best known for his 'St. Timothy’s' series, which includes titles such as Boys of St. Timothy’s (1904) and Harding of St. Timothy’s (1906). These novels depict life at a fictional boarding school and were praised for their wholesome and engaging narratives.
