Andrew Pavlopetri and his family moved to a small town in Ohio so that their daughter could attend a classical Christian school. Two weeks into the academic year, the school’s logic teacher resigned, and the head of the school asked Andrew to take over that teaching position. Although he had not been a 'professional' teacher beforehand, he quickly adapted to teaching pre-algebra, humanities, science, and logic. Three semesters later, an opportunity arose to teach Chinese high school students in the U.S. Commonwealth of Saipan. He would start in the middle of the school year teaching four subjects he’d never taught before, as well as teaching accelerated school (a year of high school content in one semester) while growing into the role of being a teacher and senior high counselor. Mr. Pavlopetri’s role as a missionary was, in every sense of the word, accidental.
