Mario Burko, the main fictional character is from the Back of the Yards neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. John Herman, the main real live person lives in Tinley Park, Illinois. Dr. Robert and Dr. Kevin Dolehide are from the Beverly area in Chicago, and Dr. Sean Tierney and Dr. Ramon Manglano from Blue Island, Illinois they play an integral role in keeping the gang healthy in their travels abroad and especially in Acapulco, Mexico where the characters gather for vacations. Sissi, a lovable and mischievous monkey and her dog friends Bozo and Brute add humor to the story along with Skippy the ridiculous Camel who now lives in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with Joseph and Susan Ahern who use Skipper as their main course of travel.
