Afin de faire face aux problèmes de stabilité des sols et d’érosion dans le sous-bassin versant de Karli, touché par un tremblement de terre, dans le district de Hattian AJK au Pakistan, le PNUD a lancé les programmes IWM et ERP en 2009-2012. L’étude a exploré les attitudes de la communauté à l’égard de l’adoption des techniques de bio-ingénierie appliquées par le PNUD. Après analyse des données recueillies auprès de répondants sélectionnés statistiquement au moyen d’un questionnaire, il a été établi que les structures de bio-ingénierie sont non seulement adaptées au climat local, mais aussi efficaces, durables, faciles à construire et économiques.
