Wąska sztuczna inteligencja, znana również jako słaba sztuczna inteligencja, została zaprojektowana do wykonywania określonych zadań z inteligencją, takich jak asystenci głosowi, tacy jak Siri lub Alexa, filtry spamu w systemach poczty e-mail lub silniki rekomendacji na platformach takich jak YouTube. Ogólna sztuczna inteligencja lub silna sztuczna inteligencja reprezentuje system o zdolnościach poznawczych podobnych do ludzkich, zdolny do uczenia się i myślenia w wielu dziedzinach. Chociaż ogólna sztuczna inteligencja pozostaje w dużej mierze teoretyczna, nadal jest aktywnym obszarem badań.
