In dieser Studie bildet ein theoretisches Sprachverarbeitungsmodell aus der psycholinguistischen Forschung die Grundlage für die Beschreibung aphasischer Symptome. Anhand dieses Modells wird ein Untersuchungsinstrument entwickelt, welches für die Diagnose und Therapie in der sprachtherapeutischen Praxis eingesetzt werden kann. Die Untersuchungsaufgaben werden auf die spezifischen Module und Verarbeitungsprozesse des Modells abgestimmt. Mit dem hier vorgestellten Instrumentarium gelingt es, aphasische Symptome eindeutig zu beschreiben, die zugrundeliegenden funktionellen Störungen zu erkennen und Maßnahmen für eine effektive Therapie festzulegen.
