L’apprendistato professionalizzante è considerato una delle principali priorità della Regione nel campo della formazione. Secondo l’ultimo censimento, il tasso di penetrazione dell’apprendistato nella Francia continentale era del 6,8%. Nove regioni sono al di sotto di questa soglia e altre tredici la superano. Tra queste ultime, dove l’apprendistato è maggiormente radicato nelle pratiche formative, Poitou-Charentes si colloca al secondo posto con un tasso dell’8,6%'.
