Lo sviluppo contemporaneo nei contesti sociali, politici, economici e culturali merita una riflessione approfondita sugli aspetti organizzativi, valorizzando la promozione umana e la partecipazione degli attori sociali alle decisioni che influenzano direttamente la vita delle persone. Questo studio si è basato sull’analisi interpretativa di immagini multispettrali e multitemporali provenienti da sensori remoti e sull’interpretazione delle condizioni ambientali attraverso il lavoro sul campo e la valutazione delle vulnerabilità delle famiglie rurali dei comuni di Caicó, nello Stato del Rio Grande do Norte, e Medianeira, nello Stato del Paraná, e delle immagini digitali. Con l’obiettivo principale di identificare le dinamiche di degrado ambientale, le vulnerabilità delle popolazioni rurali dei due comuni e le modalità di occupazione dello spazio rurale con l’aiuto di strumenti informatici, abbiamo deciso di realizzare uno studio comparativo tra due comuni con caratteristiche molto diverse per alcuni aspetti, ma molto simili per altri.
