Lo stress test è una tecnica metodica utilizzata per stimare la vulnerabilità del sistema finanziario e delle sue componenti, quali portafogli o istituzioni selezionati, considerando l’impatto di vari scenari ipotetici. Si tratta quindi di un’applicazione quantitativa di tipo 'what-if' che mira a determinare l’impatto sui profitti, sul capitale e sui flussi di cassa del sistema finanziario, considerando il caso in cui i rischi ipotizzati si concretizzino e deteriorino il sistema stesso. In questo libro illustriamo la metodologia applicabile al quadro dello stress test attraverso un’applicazione pratica dell’esercizio di stress test al rischio di credito nel sistema bancario albanese. Lo scopo di questo studio è quello di testare la resilienza del sistema bancario in circostanze di difficoltà finanziaria e deterioramento delle variabili macroeconomiche. In questa prospettiva, lo studio mira ad analizzare la stabilità finanziaria utilizzando gli stress test nel sistema finanziario albanese, che è compromesso prevalentemente dal sistema bancario.
