Bien que les décisions ou les déductions que nous faisons sur la base des résultats des tests dépendent à la fois des caractéristiques des candidats et des situations de test, peu de recherches ont été entreprises sur les effets de ces caractéristiques sur les performances aux tests (par exemple, In’nami, Y., 2006). L’effet des stratégies d’écoute sur les performances d’écoute est également indéniable (Vandergrift, 1997). L’objectif de cet ouvrage est donc d’étudier ces deux questions. Ce livre étudie non seulement l’effet de l’une des caractéristiques personnelles des candidats aux tests, à savoir l’anxiété liée aux tests, sur les performances des tests d’écoute, mais aussi la relation entre l’enseignement des stratégies d’écoute et les performances aux tests. Enfin, il se concentre sur l’enseignement des stratégies d’écoute métacognitives (Vandergrift, 1997) et son impact sur l’anxiété liée aux tests.
