Sheila was 'seeded' in Liverpool, 'budded' in West Cumbria and 'blossomed' in Newcastle upon Tyne and North Shields. After careers in secretarial, nursing and teaching FE students, she’s come out the other end as an ’emerging writer. How she can possibly be just ’emerging’ at such a ripe old age is anyone’s guess! Yet, here she is, eventually, having travelled down the road of becoming a published author. If what you’re looking to read is ’sugar and spice and all things nice’, this collection of seven short stories is certainly not for you, but if you’re looking for ’spiders and snakes and puppy dogs’ tails (tales), then this is, for sure, your cup of tea. Sheila used to write, under the name, Sheila Newton, at the beginning of the ’Teenies’, with some mild victories online, also a ’glossy’ magazine article - and in a Small Press magazine. After a break in writing of at least a decade, here she is again. But with the triumph of social media over the years, there are a small number of Sheila Newton’s out there, as authors online. So, as befits an emerging author, her pen name has changed to - Sheila LaNewtonHope you enjoy ’Strange Tales are These’.
