The statue explains an existence after death and an embodiment through the stone or metal, which he can now control. The reason for this appearance now? The World is in danger and we must take action. Other famous statues, Shakespeare, Florence Nightingale and Brunel also come to life to share this message. London comes to a standstill, chaos and confusion everywhere and the rest of the World looks on.The protagonist is Molly Hargreaves, 15 years old, born in Guatemala and home educated, who believes that the statues are here for other reasons and she sets out to prove this. Chased, captured and confined, she has to face the statues and her own fears as well as trying to convince the authorities. As more and more statues step down from their plinths, it becomes clear that the statues have other ambitions as they start to congregate in Trafalgar Square. A football supporter is killed by the statue of Sir Walter Raleigh, and Tazers and firearms have no affect, as the war for London begins. Molly is being chased by a toga-wearing statue across the railway lines of Charing Cross with only moments to work out how to defeat the statues and to save London.
