Stellafont Abbey: Or Nothing New is a novel written by Emma Marshall and originally published in 1872. The story revolves around the lives of the inhabitants of Stellafont Abbey, a fictional English village. The main character is a young woman named Alice, who is sent to live with her aunt and uncle in Stellafont Abbey after the death of her parents. As Alice adjusts to her new life, she becomes involved in the lives of the other villagers and their various struggles and triumphs. She forms close friendships with several of the women in the village, including the kind and generous Lady Emily and the fiery and independent Miss Heathcote. The novel explores themes of love, loss, family, and community. It also touches on social issues of the time, such as the role of women in society and the class divide between the landed gentry and the working class. Overall, Stellafont Abbey: Or Nothing New is a heartwarming and engaging novel that offers a glimpse into life in rural England in the 19th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
