En Afrique subsaharienne et plus précisément au Cameroun, les inégalités entre les hommes et les femmes persistent malgré les avancées en matière de développement et de lutte pour l’égalité des sexes. Les femmes sont encore victimes de discrimination et peinent à trouver leur place dans le processus de développement du pays. Cette situation appelle à une réflexion approfondie sur l’emploi des femmes, leur autonomisation et leur capacité à influencer le développement du Cameroun.L’objectif de cette étude est de mettre en lumière ces disparités en se basant sur les données issues de l’EDS-MICS 2011 (Enquête Démographique et de Santé et à Indicateurs Multiples) menée par l’INS (Institut National de la Statistique). À travers des analyses statistiques descriptives univariées et bivariées ainsi que le calcul d’indicateurs de liaison entre variables, nous tenterons de comprendre les facteurs qui perpétuent ces inégalités et proposerons des solutions adaptées.
