It is amazing how the Patriots of the American Revolution sacrificed their lives, how they fought and died to remove the yoke of King George’s tyranny from their society, and yet, today, we Americans accept a similar tyranny weilded by the professional politicians of the Federal Government, withour as much as a feather of protest to lift it. This book offeres the reader and all Americans a description of the principles and an elaboration of the practices needed to reform the Federal Government, so that we can regain control of our lives. The purpose in publishing these pages is to motivate collective thinking, to be followed by concerted actions, that will reverse the trend of government’s ever greater intrusion into individuals’ lives and its curtailment of their freedoms. Among other recommendations, it encourages the American people to create once again a representative U.S. Congress by electing to the House of Representatives and the Senate those who will be responsive to the people’s needs and their wishes. The book aims to awaken readers to the growing control the Federal Government has over their very existence, and most especially their hard earned income, with increased spending on programs that for the most part offer no benefit to thte average American family, resulting in ballooning deficits, inevitably to be accompanied--with every budget cycle-by higher taxes.

But Steffens' dogged quest for truth and justice set...
