I disturbi dello spettro autistico (ASD) sono disturbi dello sviluppo che colpiscono gli individui a diversi livelli - comportamentale, linguistico e sociale - e in diversa misura (APA, 2013). Considerato l’aumento esponenziale delle diagnosi (APA, 2013), è fondamentale informare e sensibilizzare la popolazione generale e, in particolare, coloro che sono direttamente o indirettamente legati a questi individui. L’obiettivo è quello di fornire un resoconto dei molti aspetti che circondano il concetto di autismo, con questo libro che cerca di fungere da modulo informativo/formativo/educativo per i genitori, gli educatori e il pubblico in generale. Può anche essere utilizzato per integrare programmi di valutazione/intervento per questa popolazione. Il modulo presentato è composto da cinque (5) titoli, che possono essere elaborati e presentati in base alle esigenze e alle priorità, come si ritiene opportuno. Abbiamo, quindi, il Titolo I, Concettualizzazione/i Titolo II, Cause Titolo III, Diagnosi e valutazione Titolo IV, Interventi e Titolo V, Risorse sociali Si tratterà fondamentalmente dell’autismo, del suo spettro, in modo schematico ma sviluppato e aggiornato.
