Marsz Wolności w Cuiabá jest częścią fali protestów zorganizowanych w 48 miastach kraju w dniu 18 czerwca 2011 r. Ich bezpośrednią przyczyną była represja policyjna wobec Marszu Marihuany w São Paulo w maju tego samego roku. Jest on częścią cyklu międzynarodowych protestów, w których uczestniczyły takie ruchy jak Occupy Wall Street, Indignados w Hiszpanii, Arabska Wiosna i inne. Cykl ten w pewien sposób zapowiadał mobilizacje w Brazylii w czerwcu 2013 r. W niniejszej pracy analizuję doświadczenia uczestników Marszu Wolności w Cuiabá, aby zrozumieć, w jaki sposób wydarzenie polityczne, jako zbiorowa akcja konfrontacyjna, jest konstruowane i manifestowane w subiektywności oraz umacnia poczucie przynależności do zbiorowości. Analizuję również wykorzystanie sieci cyfrowych do mobilizacji, dynamikę przywództwa, spontaniczność mobilizacji i różnorodność haseł prezentowanych przez demonstrantów. Powracam do historycznej debaty na temat cykli poprzednich ruchów, aby odpowiedzieć na pytanie badawcze i dojść do wniosku, że Marsz Wolności ma specyficzne cechy, które sprawiają, że jest on zbiorowym działaniem symbolicznym dla współczesnego świata.
