“South Florida!” is an adventure novel set amidst a group of individuals from various national, international and diverse backgrounds drawn together by unusual circumstances in a world gone mad with vice, corruption, con men, terrorists, mercenaries, international smugglers and beautiful women seeking love and wealth. The background of this story centers on hateful individuals aspiring to destroy the United States and much of the western world by blasting a nuclear device in the city of Miami, Florida. Assisting in this effort would be Russia’s Mafia. In the aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union, the mob had expanded its operational range into numerous western nations. Countered by a host of western law-enforcement agencies, wherever the newly arrived mobsters appeared they met resistance and experienced only death and incarceration. Determined to avenge and redevelop their overseas operations in the west Russia’s top Moscow based bosses, in conjunction with the internationally known Al-Qaida terrorist network, decided for the time being to lay aside their differences and hatred of one another and, jointly, cooperate to venture upon an operation to neutralize the west via nuclear terrorism. If successfully undertaken, Al-Qaida would shatter the west and restore their prominence; simultaneously, Russia’s mob would open its doors to an entirely new network of profit. Despite the best efforts of the mobsters and their extremist partners to achieve this, in the end amid a tapestry of madness, love, hatred, cruelty, and honor their plans and exertions came to a fiery conclusion on a flowery peninsula known to the world as – South Florida.

Stuart Evans’s first novel is a comedy-of-ill-manners set in a nouveau riche milieu: a fantastic satirical performance and hyper-referential homage to masters past and present.
