For some of us the struggle to become a whole person is so complex that we can hardly bear the pain of it. Such has been Eileen Curteis’ journey and, yet, to bear the pain of it has brought her the exhilaration she has longed for. It is for this reason that she is sharing her story through the medium of art and poetry.The longer Eileen lives and the more she associates with people the more she comes to realize that many persons are caught in an emotional bind that was not unlike her own, and if they desire freedom as she did, then hopefully her work can help them attain it.If anything has led Eileen to becoming a believer it is her own journey through the dark tunnel of her soul, a place where she needed to go and tell herself that emotions matter and when she did that she came out of her own dungeon feeling whole. Coming to know and love the dark and light side of ourselves is not an easy task but it is a heart warming one once we learn to be at home with every part of our God-given selves.This is what the art and poetry in Soul Journey is all about - getting in touch with the true self in order to live life more fully and to do it in a way that is gratifying to its journeyer.About the Author:For the last 32 years, Eileen Curteis, a Sister of Saint Ann has been involved in the Reiki Healing Ministry, a revered eastern healing art that she combines with her Christian heritage of healing. A former teacher, principal and educator for 27 years, Eileen shares that her greatest passion now lies in her healing ministry and in the literary arts. She has authored fifteen books to date and has become an accomplished poet, artist, and writer, as well as being a producer of seven CDs and three films. She lives in Victoria, BC.
