Welcome, 'So-You-Say' readers. I hope you found meaning and inspiration within the pages of the first book, 'Something to Ponder'. Welcome to book 2 of the series, 'View Through a Window'. This book reflects on the many times we find ourselves staring out a window or possibly deep in thought. Though a window may have a restricted view, my hope is to fuel your imagination in looking beyond what is seen or heard, allowing your mind to explore the possibilities of changing your perspective. I’ve been told many times, that if I don’t like what’s seen out of the window, maybe I should change my view. However, changing the view within your mind is even more powerful than changing the window you’re looking through. Like all my poems, they are thought provoking and meant to inspire you and not specifically provide an answer that you seek. The answer lies within yourself, and the meaningful time spent focusing on what may be important to you. Through change, and all things unknown, 'View Through a Window' is written to provide experiences within our daily lives that provide journal moments of reflection, capturing your words through an extension of mine. I have found in many writings, that I will experience exactly what I need to and not necessarily the reason why it was written.Included is, a journaling page for each poem written. This allows you or, a loved one, to immediately capture a thought that now, can be released.

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

  • The Truth about A

In his interpretation of Antigone, Seamus Heaney says, ‘Nobody can be sure they are always right.’ Maureen O’Shaughnessy’s The Truth about A further attends to this idea through various readings of the myth as portrayed by Sophocles, Brecht, Ted Hughes, Anne Carson and, most particularly, Euripides.
