By and large, Evangelicals claim that in spite of not having a detailed knowledge of the Bible, you can still be a good Christian if you have an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. On the other hand, you can have a fantastic knowledge of the Bible and be a lousy Christian or none at all. We know that Jesus came to die, to save, and to build his church, and that God has good things for us in store. And while we cannot grasp in detail all that God prepared for us, 'for now we see in a mirror dimly,' or 'through a glass, darkly' (1 Cor 13:12 KJV), it is possible to deepen our understanding of God’s plan in ways helpful for living the Christian life. Ever since you became a Christian, you were in Christ, and Christ was in you, and in him are all the treasures of wisdom andknowledge. These treasures have been in you in Christ all along. It is the author’s hope and prayer that this book will assist you inuncovering some of these hidden treasures. E.g. it will show 1 how to improve spiritual perception through recognizing the various perspectives of time, 2 how to discern biblical doctrine from manmade doctrine, 3 how redemption can be achieved, and 4 how the functioning of the churches relates to the time of Christ’s second coming. Moreover, it will give practical advice. It will show you e.g. how to display a forgiving spirit, where pronouncing forgiveness would be misleading because the offender failed to repent.
