In a society willing to incarcerate more than is necessary to accomplish [legitimate] goals of sentencing.A good many were put in there for donkey years for acts of nonviolent rule breaking. You witness firsthand wasted resources, dangerous overcrowding and needless over incarceration that takes a large individual and societal toll. Billions of tax payer’s dollar wasting and loss of individual freedom that results in family broken.
